I'm Jade Choung.
artist, mom, educator
I am a multi-faceted individual with skills I can share with you.
I am a person who strives to develop your organization skills, creativity skills, and to enhance your mindfulness. While doing so, if applicable, I encourage you to share what you learn with the children of today - yours or those in schools.
I am your newest friend reminding you to feed that creative spark you have had as a child.
As a passionate and detail-oriented art and design professional, I’ve always enjoyed approaching complex projects from a creative and unique perspective. I’m constantly striving to improve my techniques, expand my skill set and find new opportunities to grow as an artist. My artwork focuses on the anime style, yet I am not afraid to explore other art styles. I am most interested in creating cute vibrant artwork and have plans to create my own children's book and graphic novel one day!
In addition to being an illustrator, I am also a full-time international educator! I am a proud educator at Keystone Academy in Beijing, China. Here, I share my passion for illustration and digital art in my Keystone Activity Program (KAP) named Digital Art Hangout, and Kitlit Creators. I also share my love for language learning with students as an English as an Additional Language Specialist. I also enjoy spending time sharing my experience as an illustrator at guest speaking events for schools.
A bit more about me
I am from the United States, and I grew up in Long Beach, California, as well as as Fargo, North Dakota. I am the daughter of Khmer (Cambodia) refugees. I have lived in mainland USA, Guam, Guatemala, and also China. English is my primary language, but I know a bit of Spanish and beginner Chinese (I am working on this)!
In my free time, I love catching up on films, popular TV shows and anime, reading, writing, and treating myself to self-care.
I also enjoy getting to know new people and hearing their stories. It's beautiful to learn from others' experiences and find how out the ways in which we are all connected.
